Merge error[edit]

I got the following error message while trying to merge Ans van Zeyst (Q51320810) and Ans van Zeyst (Q108655957): 'Error while "Merge with: Q51320810": The statement has already a reference with hash d1c02476973f68e2ae2e0753e287b3f88c8289ff' Spinster 💬 19:43, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fails silently when you enter a string instead of an item ID[edit]

Since I am a Wikidata noob, I copy pasted an item title instead of the item ID. It failed silently, and it took me a few minutes to figure out.

Steps to reproduce:

  • activate gadget in preferences
  • visit some item
  • more -> merge with
  • type in a string instead of an item ID
  • untick "Always merge into the older entity"
  • click "merge"

What happens?

  • Nothing

What should happen instead

  • Warning modal, or red warning string, or turn the text box red, etc.

An red error appears in my popup, but it's at the bottom. I think we should rather display it at the top using the common styling. Sjoerd de Bruin (talk) 08:15, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Q117713104 & Q4022940 merge error[edit]

Error while "Fusionarlo con: Q4022940": The two items cannot be merged because one of them links to the other using the properties: P805, P2550 If you believe it's an error, please report it here with source and destination of merge. --Gejotape (talk) 16:16, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Could you provide some reasoning why these should be merged? Sjoerd de Bruin (talk) 09:09, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's the same song, You’re a Heartbreaker. --Gejotape (talk) 04:35, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Q115534365 & Q190203 are linked via said to be the same as (P460)[edit]

@Zblace: IMHO these two objects are the same. said to be the same as (P460) says: this is disputed. Do you have any ref for the dispute? best Herzi Pinki (talk) 21:41, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Buildings and the current tenant shouldn't be mixed. Sjoerd de Bruin (talk) 21:58, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I know, but both are instance of (P31) a gay bathhouse (Q1531507). Is gay bathhouse (Q1531507) the building or the tenent? The tenant can discontinue his business, he can take the business somewhere else, but he cannot take the architecture somewhere else. If these are different items, there is no reason to use said to be the same as (P460) as indicator, that they might be the same. They are different. No dispute. If Kaiserbründl (Q115534365) is the tenant, then this is an enterprise operating the establishment (and not a gay bathhouse (Q1531507)), and non-identity is better expressed by location (P276) or headquarters location (P159). At least both items share the same commonscategory, the same images and the same coordinates. best --Herzi Pinki (talk) 22:31, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

These two objects are the same (allogrooming = social grooming). WikipSQ (talk) 10:31, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
