Motivation

dblp computer science bibliography (Q1224715) publishes and maintains bibliographies of scholarly publications focused on informatics/computer science. In their FAQ, they state they have three main identifiers/keys: How to find the key of a person, a publication, or a stream? We currently have properties for DBLP author ID (P2456) and DBLP venue ID (P8926). We could complete things with this property proposal.

Notice these refer to the same publication but are quite different:

• https://dblp.org/rec/conf/icdt/2020 the publication with key conf/icdt/2020
• https://dblp.org/db/conf/icdt/icdt2020 its table of contents

I bring this up because it impacts DBLP venue ID (P8926) which also uses a similar https://dblp.org/db/ prefix. —Uzume (talk) 13:04, 9 December 2020 (UTC)

See https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q25106323#P8926 which *should* link to https://dblp.org/rec/conf/icdt/ right?   It only impacts it in so far as people might be tempted to link to the wrong thing with the wrong property. It should not affect how this property is actually used. DBLP has many caveats when it comes to applying it to linked data (e.g., they only recently switching to using their person ID in their target URLs for the bibliographies for people and their internal identifiers for such are all prefixed with homepages/). —Uzume (talk) 02:27, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
